I have also created a new layer, cut around the track, and used the render clouds effect, then set the layer filter to multiply, and opacity to 64%
And i also found a sky image (texture) from http://www.mayang.com/textures/ and set that to Overlay, 100% opacity, it sort of adds some shadows and parts where the sun is shining through, just stops it looking plain.
Best thing is to just mess around, and eventually you'll find something that works
But ... the reflection is in the wrong place (the wheels should be reflected too), you should rub out some of the rain slightly 'cos its too visible and "perfect", you should make the reflection less "perfect".
And other people will say it looks too bright and too satutrated, but I dont mind pics like that. Maybe just desaturate the grass background a little, but it looks cool.
The dash isnt working 'cos it was taken from a replay, replays havent got working dashes
Yea the sky's wrong etc, when i took the pic i wasn't intending to make it look like rain, i took a few pics and was gonna make a panorama from in car (which i havent got round to ... yet)
The thing is though, the more the rain drops are blurred the more the background has to be blurred, the rain drops can't be blurred seperatly to the background. So i've tried to keep the blurring more to the edges
When i was adding the reflection i saw that, was trying to rub it out when i relised it was just a suface change, cos its in the original pic without the reflection
Who's attacking LFS ... lol illepall
Posting pictures of another game isnt going to do any harm to LFS, so why does everyone turn round and start engaging in "word-to-word combat" lol
It's not the thread creators fault, he just seemed to be impressed by the screenshots, its the people that followed, such as yourself!
Still you keep comparing LFS to Nk PRO, and now you're even bringing Nk Namie into it, which was just a free [game] / [test] basically to see what they could achieve.
If you dont like netkar or netkar pro, you dont need to come to this thread and tell us, i for sure dont give a **** what you think, and would rather find out info about Nk Pro than listen to you lot acting like 8 year olds!
Nk Pro looks very good, but i wanna know what it sounds like with the choice of samples or synth sounds
Why do threads about other games always turn out to be a competition of what game's best?
If you want to argue over the better game start a new thread and leave this one alone!
I dont have centering spring or damper effect set to 0, and i still find it easy to catch slides and still feel the car "correct itself", it's just what feels comfortable.
FFB:
Overall 67
Spring 67
Damper 67
Centering 25
Rotation 900
I have tried other more "realistic" settings, but i have just got used to what it was set on, and just get on with driving
By the way, there is a way of making the FFB stronger by pressing a button combo on the wheel (like how you unlock the wheel to 900 degrees), so some people might get different results even with the same FFB settings in wingman
If you're using a DFP you should really set it to 900 degrees, so that you turn the wheel the same amount as they turn the wheel in game, because then you can be more precise.
I remember that it did take a while to get used to catching slides with the DFP, the hardest thing at first was just getting enough opposite lock quickly enough. Then you have to get used to when the car is gonna bite back, so that you can unwind the opposite lock in time, that took quite a while to get used to.But then it just clicked into place, and its just a normal reaction.
The easiest way to get better is to practice, the easiest excuse to give is that the FFB isnt right
But your idea was probably aimed at driving the cars. So you would need a certain licence to drive a certain car.
My idea is that you can drive any car you want, but the more experience you have, and the more you understand about racing rules, the more servers will be available and the more likely you are to having a good clean race.
Yep, thats true that is wasnt all relavent, but people who want to race and understand racing will surely not mind answering the questions, which they probably allready know. And people that just dont care about racing rules, will be more likely to race in servers with similar people.
The fact that it will be a little bit time consuming will deter the people that dont care, which is what the system would be aiming to do. Allow the people that have a good knowledge of racing to compete against each other, and people that cant be bothered to answer some simple questions, that they need to know, to race with each other.
I know there are tests at the moment in LFS, but i got the idea from Americas Army Operatations. When you do the training you have to do an "exam paper" where you are asked a question and have a mutliple choice answer, if you fail the test you have to do it again.
Is it possible that something like this could be implemented in LFS, the amount of times people ignor blue flags and stuff leads me to believe they dont know what the flags mean.
Then once you finshs the theory you have to do some of the driving tests, but not all of them because there are a lot!
It would also be good if you got an experience rank or different licences, so when you pass the tests your experience would increase, then on servers, they could restrict the users to a certain licence and skill level.
The actual test then wouldnt effect the cars you can drive, but would limit the number of people that arent willing to learn basic racing theory from access to certain servers.
It would be a huge thing to include, and may not be possible, but its just an idea ....
